This is absolutely a HORRIBLE app and a complete waste of time and bandwidth. It seems Mozilla would have something to say about it. This browser would not even load some of the most common pages on the net, even after I changed all security settings to allow and accept everything. It's horrible, just horrible!

OK I might be wrong but downloaded this and ran the self-extractor exe which actually installs it on your system as its visible from the start menu, which to me isn't portable. Not only that but if you dont want to pay its defaults to version 2. Rubbish!

USB Flash Tools is a toolkit that provides several functions for flash memory, including SD or Compact Flash cards and USB thumb drives. The program helps verify reported capacity, backup and restore of a drive (with optional compression), and securely erase the contents. A variety of secure erase methods are available including free space or whole-drive wipe using either basic (zero out / pseudorandom) or high-security standards (like DoD).
Note: While more secure, more passes are progressively slower and can reduce the life of the flash memory drive.

@smallhagrid: I don't know if this program has that functionality - I'd look to FreeFileSync http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1475 or Dsynchronize http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=719 here on the site. |

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of operation-critical settings it COULD write, so I don't think it's a big deal.

EjectUSB is a tool for quickly closing apps running from a USB drive and ejecting the drive from safe removal. It will automatically close all programs running from the drive EjectUSB was run from (host drive), close any explorer windows open to the host drive, remove Windows MUI and MRU entries and recent document shortcuts related to the host drive, and attempt to eject the host drive when done. It can also interface with various utilities to aid in drive ejection.
Alternatively, the program can be run from your hard drive as a tool to restore a computer to its post-boot state. If you have 10-20 windows open, this will quickly and easily close them all, akin to pressing a reset button for your desktop.
Warning: Launching EjectUSB will immediately close all programs running from the host drive and eject the drive without user intervention!
Note: Website is gone, download linking to Softpedia.

Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch EjectUSB.exe. The program reads its settings from EjectUSB.ini (in the same folder as EjectUSB.exe). If EjectUSB.ini does not exist, the program will run with default settings. EjectUSB also accepts a drive letter or folder path as a command-line argument. Read EjectUSB.txt for more information. |

I have to set up an iPod Nano for somebody and load song files onto it, but I don't want to install iTunes on my computer at all. When I start YamiPod it says, "Please plug in your iPod to continue". I tried both the USB2 and USB3 ports on my computer to no avail. I read pertaining questions in their forum but noone every received any answers. Apparently, Floola is written by the authour of YamiPod and Floola is still in development. Conclusion: this doesn't work for me.

@BGM: it didn't used to require iTunes but newer devices were encoded to use only iTunes software. This program is listed on our site mainly for use with early iPod generations (many of which still work fine). |
