RealWorld Cursor Editor v2013.1

Checker on 11 Jul 2013
  • 23MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on
  • Suggested by lautrepay

RealWorld Cursor Editor can create and edit cursors, both static and animated. You can draw your cursors pixel by pixel or make them from images using a simple wizard. Images in cursors can be modified by drawing tools such as Lines, Curves, Rectangles, or Ellipses. A drag-and-drop based interface allows users to easily reorder, duplicate, or append frames to animated cursors.

The program contains several predefined filters covering color corrections, softening, sharpening, motion blur and other effects. Selected filters (for example drop shadow) can be applied on multiple images at once.

Can import cursors from Linux XCursor format.

Category:
Runs on:Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch RWCursorEditor.exe.
What's new?
  • This version of RWCE contains some changes introduced in RealWorld Paint 2013.1, including redesigned color picker, drawing tools and effect windows.
  • There are also changes directly related to cursors:
    - When selecting cursor sizes in various places of the application, a text field with one or more sizes in pixels and a dropdown menu with standard options is used.
    - Improved support for Linux XCursor files. When opening a xcursor file, all resolutions are imported and the cursor can also be saved. The code was moved to a plug-in that can be installed from the online page.
    - Function that uploads cursor to the cursor library is now more user friendly. Users must log in before uploading a cursor. After a successful upload, a link to a web page with the cursor is displayed. Obviously flawed cursors can not be uploaded anymore.

This might be nice if it had colour syntax highlighting for the different regex elements. What *IS* good about this simple tester is that, unlike Expresso, it will test PCRE.

Just an FYI - Tried a couple times to download and then tried to access the authors website and got a Connection Timed Out and Problem Loading Page errors. Don't know if it's a permanant thing. Poked around and found version 1.4 on Softpedia. Also found on SharewareJunction but SJ redirects to www.waterproof.fr so got the same time out error.

Billo255 on 2016-10-21 23:26

Okay. Looks like the site is accessible again. It's magic. But why is a 2006 app being marked as new on PF. Was it just recently discovered? Just a curiosity question.

Yes [Web Site] needs updating to URL in Synopsis: http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/d10resourceeditor.htm
[Download] could point to his zip download : http://www.btinternet.com/~wilsoncpw/xnresourceeditor.zip
rather than an iffy paf

Midas on 2012-07-11 10:12

Entry needs updating. There isn't any mention of a 'Portable Edition' at the download link: there are two downloadables, a 'xn_resourceeditor_setup.exe' (which can be UniExtracted) and a 'xnresourceeditor.zip' -- in the end, the difference between the two is that you get an extra 'readme.txt' inside the '{app}' folder from the first...

@Joe: Try to edit the "VirtualDubPortable.ini" file from the "VirtualDubPortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher" folder by commenting/removing the following line: "ProgramExecutable64=VirtualDub64\VeeDub64.exe".

Joe on 2015-06-16 23:52

@joby_toss,

That worked. You are a genius!! Thank you.

There is also a yaP config @ http://rolandtoth.hu/yaP/#examples/VirtualDub.ini

It's for 32bit VirtualDub, so to use with x64, change App\VirtualDub.exe to App\Veedub64.exe

Oscar's File Renamer is a unique file renaming tool with an integrated text editor and macro support. You can perform custom editing of filenames using the integrated text editor, then apply all the changes in one operation.

Writes settings to: Windows registry. But it writes a small number of non-critical settings (window position, last path accessed, last sort direction), so I am accepting it as portable.
Unicode support: No
License: Freeware
How to extract:
  1. Download the installer and extract to a folder of your choice
  2. The application files are located in the {app} subfolder
  3. Launch Renamer.exe

Problems? This process requires an up-to-date component (Innounp 0.36 or above) for Universal Extractor. If you have difficulty extracting the files, follow the steps below and retry:
  1. Download the latest version of Innounp
  2. Extract the RAR package to the \bin folder of Universal Extractor, overwriting the existing innounp.exe

Brilliant little program, exactly what I need! Same as the authour, me too I was fed up renaming hundreds and hundreds of files using the Windows F2 key. I was thinking about writing a similar program, but luckily I looked on this website first for existing programs and samed myself a lot of time developing the thing myself. This one definately stays on my toolbox-USB-stick! Many thanks to the author.

Nice software. The only downside is they made it stupidly complicated to sync. And, as of this instant, I haven't figured out to have it sync automatically. Who wants to have to remember to sync????

When called from tray, "Notes Manager" took about 10 seconds to show up, this is awkward and frustrating. Overall the program does not behave well on Windows 8 x64.
