College Alarm Clock is developed as a personal alarm clock for your PC. It features a 7-day format so that you can wake up earlier/later on different days of the week. Save/Load your weekly schedule to your hard drive. It will play any media file stored on your PC or LAN, though you must have some player installed for each media file you wish to play (for example, Winamp for mp3s or CDs, Real Player for .RMs).

It's almost perfect to me, it just needs a snoozing option. Without it, I have to use Tarry91' alarm clock.

Definitely like the simplicity but it should be easier to set to the time and paste times between days. Would rather just use Sunbird or Rainlendar with the "repeat" function set to weekly. |
DriveSort shows you an entire drive or a selected sub-folder by what are usually the most important criteria: the largest and newest files. For speed and simplicity, DriveSort displays only the top 100 files that match your sort criterion.
Most disk space tools show only folder sizes until you "zoom in"; DriveSort is a shortcut to show which specific files are usually of greatest interest.

I recommend using Everything (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1479) instead and organize results by date. This program runs a little faster than Everything's initial drive search and then sort, but solves the issue of not being able to resize the DriveSort the window, not being able to change the top files to 50 or 200, or the ability to update automatically with new file changes. |
The 'e' Chromatic Tuner is an effective, lightweight, and easy-to-use instrument tuning program. You can choose the audio input, and optionally display the frequency of the waveform it "hears."

Toppy is simple utility that allows you to easily control which windows stay on top simply by using keyboard hot keys. After you have run Toppy, pressing WinKey + ArrowUp will set the active window to stay on top, and pressing WinKey + ArrowDown will set the window back to normal.
Unlike some similar programs, this one seems to work on 'child windows'.
Note: website is offline, linking to archive.org (thanks Baas).

It's easy to create an Autohotkey script to do the same. See http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/13784/keep-a-window-on-top-with-a-handy-autohotkey-script/ |
AnmanieSMP is a graphics morphing/deforming software similar to Photoshop's "Liquify" function or Kai's Power Goo. Can also export morphed pictures as animations.
The program is no longer being developed. Although the website is in German, the program is in English by default.

By open on the desktop I mean "open on the desktop" - most PC programs open a 'master' window, and all child windows open inside it - so if you minimize the main window they all minimize. |
M3 is an extremely small music player with a minimalist user interface and support for MP3, WMA and WAV formats. It has a searchable playlist, drag-and-drop support for queuing audio files, and can be minimized to the system tray.

Bincsoft Bitrate Calculator, or BBC, is a program that calculates the bitrate to use when encoding a video file to VCD, SVCD, DivX, XviD, DVD and lots of other formats. (Note that it calculates based on a constant bitrate, and does not do the actual video conversion itself.)

FillDisk is a simple utility that fills up a disk with data. This is useful for testing a separate application's behavior when a disk is approaching full capacity or basic free space shredding when you don't have admin access (recommend checking "No OS optimization"). The program starts with 1GB files, then drops to 512MB, 256MB and so on until it completely fills up the disk.
FillDisk has a very simple interface: just enter a folder for the files to be created and press the "Go" button. You can stop the operation at any point in time and the file that is currently being written will close.
