  • 7MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on
  • Suggested by SYSTEM

What's new?
  • Dropped support for old GNU/Linux distributions.
  • All processor architectures are supported again.
  • Added detection for all draw conditions:
  • threefold repetition
  • insufficient material
  • fifty-move rule
  • stalemate was already detected
  • Added undo and redo.
  • Added options to change piece colors.
  • Added an option to make knights face sideways.
  • Added support for the XBoard protocol commands "?", "undo" and "remove".
  • Now changed settings are applied instantly even when the engine is thinking.
  • Now the status labels indicate if the game has ended and the reason, if any.
  • Now the engine can use results from partial searches.
  • Significantly improved engine performance.
  • Improved exit time when the engine is thinking.
  • Added repaints to fix some cases where nothing seems to happen until you move the mouse.
  • In XBoard mode, now Project Invincible stops thinking when it receives the command "new", "force", "white", "black" or "result".
  • Improved responsiveness in XBoard mode when a process with higher priority has high CPU usage.
  • When the engine finds that it can be mated no matter what, now it makes the move that leads to the slowest mate. Previously it made a random legal move.
  • Improved startup time in XBoard mode.
  • In XBoard mode, now Project Invincible rejects clearly invalid positions.
  • Fixed a deadlock when changing the number of threads when the engine is thinking.
  • Fixed: the process didn't terminate if you attempted to exit the game when the game showed a dialog that asked something.
  • Fixed an use-after-free on exit if a dialog that asks something has been shown.
  • Fixed theoretical race conditions.
  • Fixed minor memory leaks.
  • Windows: fixed crash on exit with QeffectsGL.
  • Unix: fixed an error message on exit with the closed source "fglrx" AMD graphics drivers.
  • Unix: improved performance by enabling more compiler optimizations.
  • Unix: made the binary smaller by stripping information that you don't need to run Project Invincible.
  • Unix: when Project Invincible is installed, now it stores its settings in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME or $HOME/.config as required by the XDG Base Directory Specification.
  • Minor changes.

"Copy or move the contents of $INSTDIR to a folder of your choice":
I just extracted using uniextract (2. try: 7zip, same result). There is no $INSTDIR, only $PLUGINSDIR, SOUNDS and files imgburn.exe, imgburnpreview.exe, readme.txt.
I suppose this altogether is equivalent to $INSTDIR ? At least it seems to work and afterwards the ini is 18KiB and it created dir "Log Files".

smaragdus on 2015-04-15 04:09

I confirm that *fang-face* is right- the extraction of the latest version of ImgBurn (2.5.8.0) with Universal Extractor version 1.6.1 or with 7-Zip version 9.20 doesn't create any '$INSTDIR' directory.

"Includes disc testing, verification (that files are exactly the same as those on the disc)"

Re verification: I'm not sure, but I think the program only verifies that the burned content is readable. I don't see the source drive active during this process.

I always verify with WinMerge after burning:

Does burning a mixed mode audio CD with Burrrn require having a Disc drive that can write CD-Text. My burner is an Optiarc DVD+RW AD 7580S. According to the Nero Info Tool, it can read CD-Text, but it is not clear if it can also write CD-Text. Also, can Burrrn create an audio CD with album cover image (jpg) as well as text (track and album information).

Magibon on 2011-12-13 14:31

UPDATE: deleted the NSIS launcher i had posted that took care of the registry keys.. etc.

Here's an updated PAF launcher:

@ tandavad
for CD-Text support.. your Drive has to have the capability. I use Exact Audio Copy which does support CD-Text.. not sure about Burrrn.

Works well, love the simplicity, straight-forward design/usage.
I was using another Hash utility that integrated into the Properties Sheet but decided against it this time around because i just don't use it that often.

Great job author.

this is indeed a very robust renamer!

im torn between this and Advanced Renamer :(
http://www.portablefreeware.com./index.php?id=1848

both are great, coming from payware 'Better File Renamer', both these freeware offer every naming scheme/option!

this seems to provide more support for multi-languages.
i will probably make the switch to this.

great add.!

Magibon on 2011-03-10 01:41

i take that back, i just tried using this and im disappointed in the interface.

sadly, the abundance of features make it very difficult to use.

im sticking with Advanced Renamer, while it doesn't provide support for multilanguages, it's interface is much more user-friendly. simplicity and ease of use for me is important.

i'll use this only when required for multilanguages, but for everyday usage, im sticking with Advanced Renamer.

ripu on 2015-11-02 10:41

I tried to use latest zip (8.4), could not do anything. There was no option to add rules. May be something is wrong with the UI or it does not support Windows 8.1 N version.
