PngOptimizer is an easy-to-use program to compress common graphics formats to PNG format with no quality difference. Files can be added one at a time or in batch to the program icon or window. Images can also come from the clipboard by pressing CTRL+V while the application is in focus.
Cross-platform with clients available for Linux. A CLI version is available.
Graphics formats supported include BMP, GIF, TGA, as well as further compressesing PNG files. Animated GIF and PNG files (APNG) are also supported. Size decrease for PNG files varies widely on the original editor, but GIF and BMP conversions can be as much as 40% and 95% respectively.
Alternatively, PngOptimizer Portable automatically switches between 32-bit and 64-bit and adjusts the screenshots path.

Note about the 2.3 update: definitely takes full advantage of multi-processor systems. I tested it on Win7x64 with an i7 quad core and it got very close to 90% (few programs can do that). Definitely a big speed bonus over time there and good to see those kind of optimizations in freeware. |
Iconize resides in the system tray, allowing you to hide any application also in the system tray as an icon via its right-click menu. In the event that Explorer crashes and the taskbar is closed (and the system tray with it), Iconizer will rebuild all your icons when Explorer restarts. In addition, the program includes application minimize, maximize, restore, or close all at once.
NOTE: Official and many mirror sites are offline, so a local mirror is provided for download. Thanks to nolajovol for providing a copy of the last 2.0.0.5 version.

Looks like you don't need to extract anything? Looks to be natively portable?

I tried both 'Cliquez' links. Both return a 404 error message in a popup window. Must mean version 2.0.05 is gone. |
uStart is a lightweight, minimalistic program launcher with a small program size and limited features (no drag and drop) but a very small program size.
Note: Although the homepage is in German, the program GUI is in English.

Lean and mean x32 tray menu launcher, let down only by the lack of further development (seemingly ended in 2010) and drag'n'drop support -- uStart is a single 78 KB executable, and IMHO it's on par with PStart. Recommended. |
FontsOnCD allows you to simultaneously view and compare all TrueType fonts in selected folder. You can change the sample text, which can be viewed in bold, italic, underline and outline form.
Although the program name implies it only works with CDs, the program can work with any folder.
